Unit
Unit converts by sliding a scale under a needle. First released in 2009, it was rewritten from the ground up in 2026 as version 2.0.
Features
- More than 700 units in 49 categories, all searchable.
- Convert by dragging the scale under the needle, or type a value.
- A Measure tab shows your speed, altitude and distance using the device location, plus an on-screen ruler.
- Available in English and French.
Questions
Why does Unit ask for my location?
Only to show your speed, altitude and distance in the Measure tab. Unit uses your location on the device, only while a measurement is open, and never sends it anywhere. Converting units does not need your location; you can decline and use everything else.
Where did currency conversion go?
Version 2.0 does not include currency conversion or the calculator. They may return in a later version.
I used version 1.5. Will my settings and places carry over?
Yes. Your settings and saved places from version 1.5 carry over automatically when you update to version 2.0.
